What industry hides
Across Australia, pigs are confined in intensive systems and subjected to routine practices that remain legal, exempted or hidden behind consumer-facing labels.
We investigate and expose
Your support helps Animal Liberation research, document incidents and publish in-depth investigations and exposures that make hidden practices visible.
You help build pressure for change
Donations fund the educational materials and campaigning needed to challenge industry and government narratives, grow public awareness and push for meaningful reform.
Read why this campaign is needed
Every year, the unacceptable suffering endured by millions of Australian pigs throughout their short lives is abhorrent and distressing. The way Australian pigs are regarded and treated still fails to meet public expectations. Inadequate, out-of-date and ‘exempted’ animal welfare laws allow this cruelty to continue with negligible oversight and enforcement.
Animal Liberation has been working tirelessly for five decades to expose this hidden cruelty, but we need your help to fuel our Pigs Without Borders campaign. Together, we can create a better life for Australian pigs, our shared environment and people.
Across Australia, millions of Australian pigs continue to suffer from industry marketed and promoted, exempted, legalised and government-sanctioned abuse. They languish in industrial, intensive factory farms, subjected to confinement and cruel husbandry procedures. Neither the industry nor governments’ want consumers to know the truth behind the labels.
The vast majority of Australian pigs raised for human consumption are sent to slaughter at around 5-months of age. They endure long-distance transport in all weather conditions, and carbon dioxide gassing as a pre-slaughter method of stunning. Australia’s industrial pig farming industry also poses significant risks and impacts to our shared environment and people.
A better life for Australian pigs.
Pigs should be recognised as individuals—not treated as units of production. Your donation helps keep this campaign moving from evidence to exposure, and from exposure to pressure for change.
