Join us for a special afternoon high tea as we celebrate the extraordinary life, legacy and achievements of Christine Townend, Animal Liberation's founder, and one of the most influential advocates for animals in the world.
In 1976, at a time when the concepts of animal rights and veganism were virtually unheard of, Christine founded Animal Liberation. Throughout her life, Christine campaigned tirelessly against live export, mulesing, caged eggs, and the exploitation of animals in entertainment. She later co-founded Animals Australia and dedicated nearly two decades to improving the lives of animals in India through humane dog population management programs that transformed communities and saved countless lives.
Christine Townend was an accomplished artist, author, poet, and scholar who used every avenue available to inspire people to recognise the individuality and intrinsic worth of all animals.
We invite you to join us as we honour Christine's remarkable contributions and celebrate the lasting impact she has had on animals and the animal rights movement in Australia and around the world.
